Coby White, Nikola Vucevic and Zach LaVine make history Monday night, becoming the first trio in Bulls history to each score at least 25 points while making at least five 3-pointers in a 122-112 win over the Detroit Pistons. It marks only the eighth time in NBA history, and the seventh different trio, to accomplish this feat.
Other trios to each score 25+ points with at least five 3PM:
As you can see, the trio of LaVine, Vucevic and White is sitting in rarified air in the history of the NBA. Each player did it in his unique way.
LaVine had 25 points (9-19 FG, 7-14 3Pt), six rebounds, five assists and one steal in 35 minutes. White racked up 25 points (9-14 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one block over 33 minutes. Vucevic finished with 29 points (11-18 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and three blocks in his 35 minutes.
Through 15 games this season, Vucevic is averaging 20.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 0.9 blocks. LaVine is contributing 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists. White is averaging a career-high 19.9 points while also adding 3.3 boards, 4.7 dimes and 1.3 steals.
The Bulls (6-9) enter Tuesday sitting in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings. It’s too early to make any predictions about potential playoff seeding but Bulls fans have reason to be excited—not only did the team secure a win on Monday, but the trio of LaVine, Vucevic, and White will forever be remembered for this impressive accomplishment.
As odd as this record is, this doesn’t change much in the Bulls’ stance for the rest of the 2024-25 season.
